CRP Subsea (formerly Trelleborg Offshore UK) awarded three major buoyancy contracts

CRP Subsea (formerly Trelleborg Offshore UK) was recently awarded three major contracts for drilling riser buoyancy and associated riser protection that will be manufactured across two of its facilities in the UK and Brazil.

Antony Croston, Business Group Director at CRP Subsea (formally Trelleborg Offshore UK) based in Houston, says: “Now that we have almost completed the relocation of our manufacturing operations from Houston, Texas to Skelmersdale in the UK. I’m delighted to see the intended synergies have come to fruition, which has resulted in CRP Subsea winning these orders in an extremely competitive market. Since we started commissioning our facility in late 2018, we have secured five drilling riser buoyancy orders, two of which include our helical groove technology for enhanced performance in harsh environments.”

Two of the recent project awards leveraged CRP Subsea local presence and global reach enabling the company’s local team to offer customers the expertise and production resources of a global company.

Croston continues: “Our customers are global, and so are we. For these contracts there were significant scheduling and local content advantages in having products made in Brazil, as our customer has one of its operations based there. We were able to optimise the various requirements of the projects between our UK and Brazil manufacturing facilities while using our sales, engineering and project management team to work with the customer locally in Houston.”
